CAST 2022

First up:  the annual Conference for the Association of Software Testing, or CAST 2022, held November 7-8, 2022, at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar in San Diego, California. This year’s theme, “HANDS-ON,” was left intentionally open to encourage hands-on experimentation, focusing on improving context-driven testing and practical application and activities.

At CAST 2022, attendees could apply what they learned immediately. Day One consisted of three 5-hour tutorials — A Survey of Test Design Ideas, Automation 101 for Coders, and Usability for Everyone. These tutorials introduced key concepts with lectures, Q&As, and hands-on activities to reinforce newly learned skills. A Test-a-thon followed, with hands-on support from tutorial instructors, speakers, and participants. Day Two again focused on hands-on, practical testing skills, with keynotes, workshops, and track sessions throughout the day.

After the conference, Provar sponsored a cocktail reception for attendees and sponsors. It allowed us to rub elbows with familiar faces and new connections.
