Administrator has blocked access to client

While adding a new connection in Provar and clicking the Test Connection button, you might see the following message: The connection test failed: Sorry, your administrator has blocked access to the client.

This message appears when access to a Salesforce application has been blocked for third-party API clients.

While Provar is trying to test the Connection, it sends an API call to Salesforce to validate authentication. Since access to Salesforce is blocked in this scenario, this message appears.

To make your connection work, take one of the following steps.

Via app access setting

Go to the App Access Settings section and uncheck the Limit API checkbox. This will give access to API calls that are made to create the Connection.

Via connected app

If you do not see the above option, or do not have the right permissions to complete the steps above, you can also create a Connected App to give access.

Follow the steps below to do this:

Step 1: Create a connected App in Salesforce, providing any sample value.

Step 2: Once the connected App is created, connect it to Provar by providing Consumer Key and Consumer Secret. Refer to Webservices Setup for more information on how to do this.

Step 3: After this is completed, whitelist the app for the profile you provided credential in Provar’s connection window. Refer to Control Individual API Client Access to your Salesforce Org for more information on how to do this.

Step 4: Navigate back to Provar and re-try the Test Connection action.

This should resolve the issue. If you are still having trouble, get in touch.
