Configuring test case parameters and settings

Each test case you create has Parameters and Settings. These are broken up into four sections: Documentation, Settings, Test Case Parameters, Test Case Output Parameters

These sections are accessible by double-clicking the name of your test in the Navigator tab.

Parameters and Settings > Documentation

The Documentation section allows you to type a summary of your test for Reporting purposes. This is helpful if you need to review multiple reports frequently and understand, at a glance, the nature of the test. This is a free text field where you can enter information about the test.

Parameters and Settings > Settings

Within the Settings section, you have three options within the Skip on Error drop down menu: Skip, Continue or Inherit.

Skip: Skips the entire test case if any step fails in test case and starts the next test case

Continue: If any test step fails, the tests will continue running the other steps in the same test case

Inherit: Inherit settings from the Parent test cases

Within the Settings section, there is also a drop down menu where you can specify if you would like to make a test Callable or Not Callable. You can learn more about callable tests here.

Parameters and Settings > Test Case Parameters

In this section, you can create new test case parameters (by clicking the P icon with a plus sign) or edit, remove or remove existing test case parameters (by clicking the P icon with the Provar cog.)

You can also specify an override connection which is optional.

Parameters and Settings > Test Case Output Parameters

Test Case Output Parameters allow your callable test cases to return values that can be used in subsequent test cases. To add a new test case output parameter, first click the P icon with a plus sign.
